Достигают 6-8 см длины и характеризуются своеобразной формой: передний конец, занимающий примерно 2/3 всей длины тела, тонкий, волосовидный, а задняя часть тела утолщена. Ротовой капсулы нет. Пищевод (в виде одиночно расположенных друг за другом клеток) простирается по всей длине утонченной части тела.
