Description

Тело широкоовальное, вздутое в середине. На переднем спинном крае треугольный шип образует клювовидный нависающий вырост. Нога короткая, коническая, левый палец почти длина тела, правый короткий и загнутый. Общая длина 270–300, длина тела 180–200 мк, левого пальца 90–100 мк.

Азия (Россия, Якутия – небольшое озеро с высоко минерализованной водой), Северная Америка (США – Большие озёра с мягкими щелочными водами).

Широко распространен.

Стоячие водоемы северных и умернных широт, иногда солоноватые мелкие пруды.
