Голова широкая, округленная спереди, отделенная от туловища, с присоской. Рострум короткий, заостренный. Раковинка без ясно выраженной ретикуляции. Передние антенны палочковидные, несущие 9 эстетасков.
Западная Палеарктика.

Среди зарослей подводных растений в прибрежной части озер и прудов.
Моноцикличный, максимальное число яиц – 75.
Очень умеренно.
