Панцирь многоугольный ассиметричный со скульртурой в виде зёрен, реже фасеток. По переднему краю 10 массивных, расходящихся шипов: 6 спинных и 4 прямых брюшных.Задний край с 2 боковыми шипами. Отверстие для ноги смещено на брюхо, сдвинуто вправо и с 2 ассиметричными шипами, обычно правый длиннее левого. Длина панциря 165–265, ширина 108–170 мк. Самцы известны.
Повсеместно (в умеренных широтах и в Средней Азии).
Широко распространен.
Небольшие заросшие водоёмы, реки.
Очень низкая численность.
