Description

Раковинка с заметной ретикуляцией. Тело очень мало сжатое с боков. Створки с шипообразно вытянутым верхнезадним углом. Голова маленькая, сильно наклоненная книзу, отделенная от туловища выемкой. Имеется только латеральный головной киль. Рострум отсутствует.

Geographic distribution

Во всех частях света кроме Австралии; в России повсеместно, север восточного полушария на юг до Северной Африки, Индии и Вьетнама. Австралия, Америка.

Юго-Восточный Казахстан.

Places of residence

Литораль, открытой части озер, водохранилищ, пруды, медленно текущие реки.
