Раковинка сероватая, с хорошо заметной ретикуляцией. Тело очень мало сжатое с боков. Створки с шипообразно вытянутым верхнезадним углом. Голова маленькая, сильно наклоненная книзу, отделенная от туловища выемкой. Рострум отсутствует.
Повсеместно в Палеарктике (кроме Австралии).
Юго-Восточный Казахстан.
Озеро, водохранилищ, пруды, медленно текущие реки, мелкие водоемы.
Моноцикличный, самцы и эфиппиумы развиваются осенью.
Низкая.
