Description

Раковинка оранжевая или желто-коричневая, с ретикуляцией и продольными полосками. Створки овальные. Брюшной край покрыт щетинками. Задний край створок высокий, составляющий больше половины наибольшей высоты створок. Голова низкая, не отделена от туловища. Рострум короткий, направленный вниз.

Всесветен (кроме Австралии).

Широкораспространенный.

Places of residence

Бентос, озеро, пруды, заливных пойм рек.

Ecological and biological characteristics

Предпочитает воду со слабокислой или щелочной реакцией. В южных районах круглогодичный, севернее – моноцикличный.
